Alaska is incredible! I’m running out of punchy one-liner adjectives for the places I visit. They are all stunning, but Alaska is special. It’s on another level. A visit here has been on my bucket list for a long time now and I’d say I can die happy having visited, but, the truth is, I can’t wait to go back.

We spent 10 days in some of Alaska’s finest areas for landscape and wildlife photography. I had an absolute blast and more importantly, I made many great images I’m really happy with. Those shots will slowly make their way into my galleries on this site but I’ve included a collection below I’m calling “Squares of Alaska”. Just kidding, I’m not calling it anything, but the compositions are all squares. Many were shot with my viewfinder set to 1x1 and composed as a square in the field. It is not that squares are revolutionary; it is quite the opposite. They are new for me, though.

Fortunately, I am going back to Alaska in March. It will be a colder visit then for sure. Fingers crossed the aurora show up!
